The oldest
establishment founded in the town is Bala' Charitable Society which
was established in 1965 by a group of women working in the social
field. It contains a kindergarten which offers training and
education for tens of little children. One should remember that
Israeli forces demolished the building of the Society in the year
2002, and it was rebuilt with the help of (Catholic Relief Services)
which also offered pieces of furniture and different toys for the
kindergarten belongs to the Society.
The most important
establishment in the town is Bala' municipality which is responsible
for citizens and for offering all necessary services that they need.
Ten years ago
Bala' was run by a rural council but it was exchanged by a municipal
council following policy of the Palestinian National Authority.
The municipality
has different departments or sections such as engineering,
electricity, water and health.
It is now run by
an elected staff consists of the chief and ten members who usually
help him in taking decisions and directing matters concern the town.
Another
institution in the town is the sporting club which was founded by a
group of educators in 1995. This club meets the needs of the youth
in cultural, social affairs in addition to sports affairs. It is in
need of completing its building and constructing suitable
playgrounds for different kinds of games.
There is also
Bala' Society of Agricultural Services which was founded in 1980 by
a group of farmers who are interested in the agricultural sector. It
offers advice and support for farmers in addition to different types
of trees and grain in order to improve and increase the yields.
(Bala' Charitable
Society for the Welfare of Students' Affairs) is a very important
institution in Bala'. It cares about students in different stages
where it offers them financial help and some necessary things such
as bags, books, notebooks, pens, etc. This Society was founded by a
group of educators and people interested in education in 1997. It
seeks for developing education level of students and offering them
necessary help continuously.
Lastly, the
availability of a post office in the twon makes easier for people to
perform their post services.
Another important
institute in Bala' is Al-Zakat Committee founded in 1989. It offers
financial help for poor people and provides two clinics; one is
dental and the other is pregnant. The new establishment "Bala'
Cooperative Consuming Society" was established in 2005. It is run by
a group of women aiming at creating new opportunities of work,
manufacturing agricultural products, opening a consuming market and
establishing monetary fund for credit.
The other new
establishment is "Rural Development Society" which was founded in
2005 and its members are 138 farmers. Its goal is to construct small
factories for working the unemployed and offer seeds and fertilizers
for farmers. |
