About the event
At BALAA after school, students are a part of a FULL marching band program that teaches traditional, HBCU-style marching arts. Students learn to play either a horn (clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone, baritone, mellophone or sousaphone), or a percussion instrument (snare drum, tenor drum, bass drum, cymbals, or quints), or they join our auxiliary line (majorette dance and flag corps). Musicians are taught to read music, and as a part of our after school program, are invited to be members of Junior Empire Marching Elite.
