BALAA Beauties
BALAA Beauties is an all girls initiative that provides opportunities for girls ages 5 to 18 to explore various genres of dance and other performing arts. The girls take trips to varying productions, On & Off Broadway plays, events at theaters and performing arts centers around the city, and other outings as it relates to performing arts.

BALAA Brawn
BALAA Brawn is a male mentorship program designed to sever the pupil to prison pipeline in New York City. Open to boys ages 5 to 18, members are matched with male mentors, and have the opportunity to participate in mentorship retreats, sports outings, empowerment workshops and other male bonding activities.

The Empire Marching Elite
The Empire Marching Elite (TEME) is the New York City All Star Marching Band. It presents HBCU style marching arts in the Big Apple and provides opportunities for members to seek marching band scholarships to HBCUs. For information on sectionals and full band rehearsals, email us at

Urban & Multicultural Education
This program provides opportunities for members to learn about the rich history of African Americans and other cultures in the United States. There are trips to museums and other historical sites, as well as workshops and other events that allow members to share their heritage and culture, promoting tolerance and respect for diversity.
